Abstract
Cytauxzoonosis, an often fatal protozoal blood disease of domestic cars in the United States, is manifested by fever, dehydration, icterus, leukopenia , and thrombocytopenia. Diaminazene aceturate or imidocarb dipropionate, parenteral fluids, heparin , and blood transfusions have been effective in treating cats with this oth erwise fatal disease.
