Abstract
The authors give an overview of the occurrence, as web as taxonomical and m orphological characteristics of human and animal bacterial pathogens belong ing to the Helicobacter genus. The pathological, epidemiological and diagno stic features, therapy and public health issues in connection with the dise ases caused by Helicobacter spp. are also briefly reviewed.
