Abstract
Selective oxidation of primary alcohol in the presence of a secondary alcohol with quinolinium chlorochromate (QCC) has been achieved with a mild, stable and very efficient reagent. Its mechanistic and comparat ive study with isoquinolinium chlorochromate (IQCC) has also been repo rted.
