This article summarizes the features of geographic exposure, transmission m echanism, and specific parasite, which may be acquired by mobile population s. A syndromic approach, when coupled with a travel history, will assist th e clinician in considering these infections in the differential diagnosis o f their patients' complaints, especially when a parasitic organism that is either not endemic or is rare in the local environment is a possibility.
