DEVELOPMENT OF A FIBEROPTIC DATA TELEMETRY SYSTEM FOR FOTIA

A fibre-optic telemetry system has been developed for controlling and monitoring the various parameters of the components located in the hig h voltage areas of the 7 MV folded tandem ion accelerator. The system uses a multiplexing-demultiplexing method to communicate with several parameters through a single fibre-optic cable. Communication of the si gnals in the digital form ensures that the reliability and quality of the signals is maintained. The system has been tested for its satisfac tory performance.
