Abstract
The influence of RF absorbers in the vicinity of small antennas was investi gated. Absorbers placed more than 100 mm from an antenna have no considerab le effect on its radiation characteristics at 1.8 GHz. Results were confirm ed by measurements and simulations, indicating the possibility of using sma ll anechoic chambers for small antenna measurements. (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
