A combined conversion electron and gamma-transmission Mossbauer spectroscop
y is applied to investigate the differences in the surface and bulk crystal
lization of the amorphous Fe80Ti7B12Cu1 alloy. The radio-frequency (rf) ind
uced effects (rf collapse and sidebands) ave used to study the magnetic pro
perties (anisotropy fields, magnetostriction) of the amorphous and nanocrys
talline phases. Rf-Mossbauer experiment allowed us to distinguish soft magn
etic nanocrystalline bcc-Fe phase from the microcrystalline alpha-Fe. (C) 1
