Y. Sakamura et T. Suzuki, NUMERICAL STUDY OF SHOCK-WAVE REFLECTIONS FROM A WEDGE WITH SURFACE-ROUGHNESS, Transactions of the Japan Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences, 40(127), 1997, pp. 30-39
Numerical simulations of shock-wave reflections from a wedge with surf
ace roughness are performed using a two-dimensional finite-volume gene
ralized-Riemann-problem (GRP) scheme. The surface roughness is simulat
ed by two-dimensional square cavities (gutters), which are formed on a
wedge surface with regular intervals. The numerical results are compa
red with shadowgraphs obtained from shock-tube experiments, with excel
lent agreement, The formation and propagation of a secondary reflected
shock wave, which plays a key role in the shock-wave reflection from
a multi-guttered wedge, are revealed and discussed in the present nume
rical study.
