Abstract
Two-thirds of total body magnesium content is located in the skeleton. Rece ntly, there have been reports that high dietary magnesium intakes are assoc iated with higher bone mineral density. The effect of magnesium supplementa tion an bone turnover has recently been investigated in young adults. Howev er; the findings from these studies are conflicting. More studies are neces sary to better elucidate the role of magnesium in bone health.
