Superionic glasses with 0.5AgI .(0.5-x)Ag2O . xP(2)O(5) composition for x i
n the range 0.14-0.25 have been prepared by the splat quenching method. Ram
an spectra were measured for all compositions. Observed spectral features w
ere interpreted in terms of different modes of vibration of the phosphate n
etwork. Mode frequencies were determined by deconvolution of the obtained s
pectra. They have been assigned to different types of PO4 groupings. In the
composition range considered ortho-, pyro- as well as metaphosphate groupi
ngs have been identified. Change of relative intensities of the relevant sp
ectral peaks as a function of the composition has been observed.
