Abstract
RTU(Receiver Test Unit) for Koreasat digital DBS System was implemente d. It consists of 45 cm antenna, LNB, Set-Top-Box, Smartcard and Remot e-controller. The Set-Top-Box was implemented with commercial hardware devices for DVB and MPEG based processing. Various external interface s are used for testing Koreasat digital DBS signal. A task-based softw are was adopted for flexibility to add/remove more functions. 12 softw are tasks are communicating with each other by passing mail messages w ith pre-defined formats on a real time multi-tasking OS.
