K. Ogura et al., Application of CR-39 for alpha autoradiography and in vivo detection of B-10 accumulations in tumor bearing mice, RADIAT MEAS, 31(1-6), 1999, pp. 389-394
It is required to achieve an accurate measurement of B-10 distributions and
concentrations in the turner cells for baron neutron capture therapy (BNCT
). We employed a technique of neutron capture autoradiography (NCAR) of the
whole body samples of tumor bearing mice using CR-39 plastic track detecto
rs to the measurements of B-10 accumulations in mice. In order to confirm t
he validity of the NCAR measurements, the differential REL spectrum for the
neutron-induced particles emitted from the standard filter paper sheets wa
s compared with that for B-10-compound solution. Differential REL spectrum
far protons. originated from the biogenically abundant nuclides through N-1
4 (n, p) C-14 and H-1 (n, n') H-1 reactions was measured in vivo using a sm
all piece of CR-39 inserted into the tumor of mouse.
