The samples of polyallyldiglycolcarbonate track etch detectors were exposed
on board of the satellite BION 11 as well as on board of MIR orbital stati
on. They were etched to develop the tracks of primary cosmic ray charged pa
rticles as well as their secondaries created through the primary particle n
uclear interactions in the detector and neighbouring materials. The seconda
ry particle tracks were evaluated to determine their spectra of linear ener
gy transfer and their contribution to the dose, D, and dose equivalent, H,
on on board fields. Dosimetric characteristics obtained are compared with t
hose established in other high energy particle beams and fields. The prelim
inary results concerning the fluxes of primary cosmic ray charged particles
are also presented.
