Abstract
Ultrasound has a significant role to play in the evaluation of both articul ar and periarticular disease becuase of its low cost, wide availablity, rap idity, and ability to guide interventional procedures in real time. This ar ticle reviews the technical requirements, scanning techniques, and clinical indications for joint sonography, as well as the sonographic appearance of various articular and periarticular pathologies.
