Results on magnetic and structural characterization of ferrimagnetic compou
nds of BaXSr1-XFe12O19 (x=0.0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1.0) prepared by the co
nventional ceramic method are reported. The samples were systematically exa
mined using atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction and vibrating
sample magnetometer. Structural and magnetic differences among the specimen
s were observed. The relations between structural features and magnetic pro
perties are discussed. The presintering temperatures of the samples were 80
0 degrees C and 1,000 degrees C. The specimens were sintered at 1,200 degre
es C for one hour.
