New alternatives to the industrially introduced methods for the sealing ofanodized aluminium

The results shown in this paper allow the design of new processes for the i ndustrial sealing of anodic oxides of aluminium. Thanks to the combination of the cathalitic power of triethanolamine (TEA) and the beneficial effects of ageing, the proposed processes offer considerable advantages compared w ith boiling water sealing and cold sealing, which are the most utilized sea ling methods nowadays.
