Retraction of lower limbs in a female with hyperthyroidism

We report a 47 years old women with hyperthyroidism that had a severe tendi nous retraction of hips and knees that subsided with propylthiouracil treat ment. Electrodiagnosis showed myopathic alterations and muscle strength was moderately reduced. The authors did not find references of a similar condi tion in patients with hyperthyroidism.
