Abstract
X-ray photoelectron spectra and catalytic properties of platinum fulleride C60Pt were studied. The value of the bond energy of Pt4f(7/2) (72.4 eV) fou nd for platinum in the starting C60Pt suggests a partial charge transfer fr om Pt to C-60 The interaction of solid platinum fulleride with gaseous deut erium leads to the formation of fullerene deuterides C60Dx and Pt dusters.
