Abstract
yThe crystal structure of [Pb(H(2)Edta)] . 1.5H(2)O is studied by X-ray dif
fraction analysis. The crystals of [Pb(H(2)Edta)] . 1.5H(2)O are triclinic:
a = 10.308, b = 11.586, c = 13.023 Angstrom, alpha = 80.87(2)degrees, beta
= 76.80(2)degrees, gamma = 76.91(1)degrees, V = 1465.5(5) Angstrom(3), Z =
4, space group P (1) over bar. The coordination numbers of two crystallogr
aphically independent lead atoms are 6 + 2; the stereochemical activity of
the electron lone pairs in the two complexes is different.
