Abstract
The novel, functionalized tricycles 24-26 are readily synthesized via conci se routes that employ key tandem anionic 1,3-ester shift and intramolecular Stille coupling protocols. The potential value of this methodology is demo nstrated further by the preparation of the struturally unique tetraquinane keto ester 31.
