Determination of nitrendipine in serum and saliva by HPLC

High - performance liquid chromatography method for determination of nitren dipine in human serum is presented. The separation was achieved on ODS colu mn, the mobile phase was methanol-water. UV detection was applied. Nifedipi ne was used as an internal standard. The drugs were extracted from serum an d saliva with diethyl ether. The detection limit was 2 ng ml(-1). The linea rity of detection was good for the concentration range 10-60 ng ml(-1). The method was applied for the monitoring of nitrendipine in patients serum af ter oral administration and in serum and saliva after sublingual administra tion.
