At its current phenomenal rate of growth the electronic economy may overtak
e the traditional industrial economy by 2003. The Internet business model-m
inimal physical assets, little management hierarchy, and a direct pipeline
to customers-has become the new orthodoxy, and it is transforming cost and

eneral Electric's Jack Welch and Rupert Murdoch of News Corporation, have b
een converted.
