P. Sjoberg et al., All-solid-state chloride-selective electrode based on poly(3-octylthiophene) and tridodecylmethylammonium chloride, ELECTROANAL, 11(10-11), 1999, pp. 821-824
All-solid-stare chloride-selective electrodes with plasticizer-free membran
es were prepared by incorporation of tridodecylmethylammonium chloride (TDM
ACl) in a semiconducting conjugated polymer matrix of poly(3-octylthiophene
) (POT). The membrane components were dissolved in chloroform and deposited
on glassy carbon by solution casting resulting in all-solid-state chloride
sensors. The analytical performance of the chloride sensors were studied b
y potentiometric measurements. The selectivity sequence was close to the Ho
fmeister series and the interference from lipophilic anions like ClO4-, SCN
-, NO3- and Br- was significantly reduced in comparison with chloride elect
rodes based on TDMACl and plasticized PVC.
