Abstract
Dual-wavelength-pumped silica-fibre Raman amplifiers operating at wavelengt hs around 1.55 mu m and with gain bandwidths around 60nm have been construc ted. An experimental comparison is made between dual and single stage confi gurations and the spectral gain tilt due to inhomogeneous saturation under large signal conditions has been characterised.
