Abstract
A La(III) complex, La-(R)-tppn (tppn=N,N,N,N'-tetrakis(2-pyridinylmethyl)-( X)-propylendiamine), is reported for the first time to resolve the enantiom er signals of alpha-amino acids in weakly acidic solution as a diamagnetic lanthanide complex. The induced signal separation showed good correspondenc e between the relative position of the enantiomer signals and the absolute configuration of alpha-amino acids.
