LIMNOLOGICAL SURVEY OF THE WARM MONOMICTIC LAKE TRICHONIS (CENTRAL-WESTERN GREECE) .2. SEASONAL PHYTOPLANKTON PERIODICITY - A COMMUNITY APPROACH

Phytoplankton assemblages of the warm monomictic lake Trichonis were s tudied during the period April 1985 to February 1986. Species composit ion and biomass data are presented along with information on the seaso nal periodicity of dominant taxa of microalgae. Multivariate methods w ere used to analyze community structure and annual succession. Populat ion succession patterns correspond to changes in environmental variabl es. According to the generalized phytoplankton sequences Trichonis is classified as an oligotrophic lake.
