An adaptive multipath decorrelating multiuser receiver is considered for ap
plication in Rayleigh fading multipath channels with significant Doppler sp
read. Coherent diversity combining is performed using adaptively obtained c
hannel estimates in a manner that minimizes the impact of estimation errors
on data detection, The bit-error rate of the receiver is evaluated analyti
cally, showing dependence on the fading rate of the channel and tracking ca
pabilities of adaptive least mean square and recursive least square algorit
hms, in addition to the order of multipath diversity and the number of acti
ve code-division multiple-access users.
