Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during the winter (rabi) season of 1987-88 and 1988-89, Lentil (Lens culinaris Medikus) sown either with linseed (Lin um usitatissimum L.) or Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czernj. & Coss on] in row ratio of 6 : 1 was at par but gave significantly higher lentil s eed yield than ail intercropping systems. Linseed gave the lowest lentil yi eld when grown with lentil in 2 : 1 row ratio. Maximum reduction (51.08%) i n lentil yield was obtained in lentil + linseed (2 : 1) system, whereas min imum with lentil + Indian mustard (6 : 1) (5.84%) when compared as sole len til yield.
