Abstract
Reaction of anhydrous FeCl3, with (PBu2Me)-Bu-t in alcohol gives [(HPBu2Me) -Bu-t][FeCl2((PBu2Me)-Bu-t)], a salt with a tetrahedral Fe(II) anion hydrog en bonded (via Cl) to the P-H proton of the cation. Reaction of FeCl2(CO)(4 ) with (PBu2Me)-Bu-t in benzene, followed by workup gives FeCl2((PBu2Me)-Bu -t)(2), a tetrahedral molecule with a crystallographic C-2 axis and Fe-Cl = 2.260(1) Angstrom and Fe-P = 2.506(1) A and an unusually small P-Fe-P angl e of 106.38(3)degrees (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A.
