Abstract
Recent work has focused on the problem of designing noise shaping filters w ith low increase in total guantization noise power gain. In this contributi on, given the desired shape of the noise spectrum over some portion of the total bandwidth, a theoretical lower bound for noise power gain is derived. As a consequence, it allows to optimize noise shaping filters towards that theoretical best shape. Copyright (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
