Gj. Gissing et Tj. Crease, A SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE CHEMILUMINESCENT DNA-FINGERPRINTING TECHNIQUE USING DIGOXIGENIN-LABELED MINISATELLITE PROBES, Canadian journal of zoology, 75(5), 1997, pp. 817-820
DNA fingerprinting has become a powerful tool in behaviourial and evol
utionary ecology. However, investigators have been limited in their ac
cess to this technique because of the need for special radioisotope fa
cilities. We present an alternative, non-isotopic DNA fingerprinting t
echnique based on chemiluminescent detection of digoxigenin-labelled m
inisatellite probes. This methodology should provide a greater number
of researchers with access to DNA fingerprinting without the need for
special laboratory facilities.
