Abstract
The fundamental frequencies of fiber-reinforced laminated cylindrical shell s with a given material system are maximized with respect to fiber orientat ions by using the golden section method. The significant effects of shell t hickness, shell length, cutout and end condition on the maximum fundamental frequencies and the associated optimal fiber orientations are demonstrated .
