This review article completes a series of experimental investigations
of mass-energy distributions of fragments produced in the fission of v
arious nuclei from Xe-119 to the 108th element that have excitation en
ergies between 40 and 150 MeV. The problem of the real temperature of
fissile nuclei following the emission of prefission particles, the cha
racter and degree of the effect exerted by the angular momentum on mas
s distributions, and the way in which dynamical effects may manifest t
hemselves in the properties of fission products of hot rotating nuclei
are discussed.
