The cross section sigma(dt) for the fusion reaction d + t --> n + alph
a and the cross section sigma(n alpha) for elastic neutron scattering
by an ex particle are microscopically calculated with allowance for th
e three-body channel of deuteron disintegration into p + n + t. Experi
mental data on the cross sections sigma(dt) and sigma(n alpha) can be
simultaneously described only when the calculation takes this channel
into account. It is shown that an additional resonance below the thres
hold of the d + t channel is seen in the cross section sigma(n alpha)
near the incident-neutron energy of E-n congruent to 20 MeV.
