Abstract
A new battery check system for the valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) ba ttery has been introduced in NTT telecommunications power plants. The check system makes the rectifier output voltage lower than the rated f loat voltage of the battery during the test period. Battery capacity i s estimated from the voltage degradation of the battery during that pe riod.
