Abstract
In this paper, the author studies the Saint-Venant flexure problem for holl ow, homogeneous, isotropic cylinders with a thin multiconnected cross secti on. By using the framework of the Gamma-convergence of functionals, the cla ssical theory of Jouravski is shown to be the variational limit of the flex ure problem when the thickness of the wall goes to zero.
