Abstract
The synthesis of 2-[2-carboxymethylthio-2-(4-chloropheny)ethyl]-2-(4-chloro phenyl)-4-thiazolidinone (1) from p, p'-dichlorochalcone using throglycolli c acid in the presence of ammonium carbonate is described. Structural assig nment and stereochemistry are discussed.
