Abstract
The surface of Cd1-xZnxTe (CZT) material has high resistivity but is not a perfect dielectric. Even a small surface conductivity can affect the electr ic field distribution, and therefore, the charge collection efficiency of a CZT pixel detector. The paper describes studies of this phenomenon for sev eral contact configurations made on a single CZT detector. We have determin ed the maximum inter-contact separation at which the surface inter-pixel ch arge loss can be neglected. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reser ved.
