Abstract
A proposed use of a dielectric thin-film helicoidal bianisotropic medium (T FHBM) bilayer as a narrow bandstop biter is examined, taking dispersion as well as dissipation into account. All constitutive parameters are supposed to be Lorentzian functions of frequency, displaying resonance in the ultrav iolet regime. Dissipation in the TFHBM bilayer makes the spectral signature of the circular Bragg phenomenon polarization-dependent and gives rise to absorption. Three ways to improve the spectral response towards narrow band stop filtering application are presented. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Sc ience B.V. Al rights reserved.
