Abstract
We present accurate total electron yields from clean gold for impact of sin gly and multiply charged ions (C, N, O, Ne) for impact velocities from belo w 10(5) up to 10(6) m/s. Special interest has been devoted to a possible pr ojectile-charge dependence of the respective kinetic electron emission.
