Mean ionization probabilities of the outer L- and M-shells in the projectil
es (p(L) and p(M), respectively), associated with the K-vacancy production
in the collisions Fe, Co Ni, and Cu + An at 0.1-1.5 MeV/u bombarding energy
, are reported. They have been obtained by using the energy and yield shift
method for the K X-ray lines. An interesting behavior of p(L) at lower (0.
1-0.5 MeV/u) energies, which suggests non-equilibrium L-shell vacancies, ha
s been observed.
