Abstract
The technique of cold-target recoil-ion momentum spectroscopy is used to st udy the process of ionization in slow to intermediate-velocity collisions. Some evidence for the role of the quasi-molecular promotion in the ionizati on process is presented. The two collision systems He+ - He and Ne+ - Ne ar e chosen for illustration.
