The influence of quantum interference effects induced by mixing of coherenc
es and populations in the fluctuating plasma microfeld on the redistributio
n of resonance radiation by HCI is studied in terms of the atomic density m
atrix. The thermal ion motion is considered within the model microfield met
hod. Results show that the thermal ion motion (ion dynamics) induces QIEF a
s well, and both are essential in line centres and nearest wings of the sca
ttered radiation.
