Abstract
The problem of strong-field photoionization of a three-dimensional Rydberg hydrogen atom is solved numerically. The results are compared with those of the newest version of an analytical theory based on the quasiclassical app roach. The probabilities of ionization calculated numerically and analytica lly are found to agree perfectly. The results obtained confirm the existenc e of strong-field interference stabilization interpreted in terms of Raman Lambda-type transitions via the continuum. [S1050-2947(99)50508-9].
