Abstract
Within the framework of a rigorous quantum mechanical theory of the resonan t tunneling diode the dependence of current on the field amplitude is obtai ned. Numerical solution of equations describing the generation is found. Th e power of generation is calculated as a function of the pump current for v arious parameters of the model. The calculated current is compared with tha t obtained analytically in the weak field limit.
