Abstract
An induced antifungal compound, trans-p-coumaryl aldehyde, was isolated fro m fruit tissue of Cucuribita maxima which had been elicited with pectinase. Its chemical structure was identified by NMR and MS. This is the first rep ort of a phytoalexin from a member of the Cucurbitaceae. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
