Abstract
It has been found that the addition of zeolite-based stabilizers as a bleac hing chemical in the deinking process could help to reduce the generation o r colloidal components in white-water after deinking without affecting the ink release and agglomeration efficiency significantly When added as a flot ation additive zeolite Y increased ink and colloidal solid removal with onl y marginal drop in yield. Zeolite Y was also found to have a positive influ ence on bleach stabilization during repulping of aged newsprint at a reduce d alkali charge.
