Equilibria liquid-vapor and liquid-solid in the Th(NO3)(4)-UO2(NO3)(2)-HNO3
-H2O systems were studied. Thorium nitrate hexahydrate and uranyl nitrate t
etra- and hexahydrates are formed in this system. Empirical relations descr
ibing the solubility isotherm at 25 degrees C were established. The densiti
es of the liquid phases were determined. Thorium and uranyl nitrates, prese
nt both separately and simultaneously, salt out nitric acid into the vapor
phase. An empirical equation was obtained describing relation of the nitric
acid concentration in the condensate with the concentrations of all the co
mponents of the liquid phase.
