Management of lipid disorders

Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and lipid disorders are common in pa tients with rheumatologic disorders. Plasma lipids should be screened and l ipid disorders actively treated in an attempt to reduce cardiovascular risk in this population. Care should be taken to avoid side effects and drug in teractions, which may be somewhat more likely to occur in rheumatolotic pat ients.
