A previously, healthy 62-year-old immunocompetent woman presented with grou
p B streptococcal vertebral osteomyclitis, Group B Streptococcus was recove
red in 3 consecutive blood cultures. The patient recovered full after treat
ment including antibiotic therapy!, bed rest and physical rehabilitation. G
roup B streptococcal vertebral osteomyelitis is uncommon and has not previo
usly been reported in patients with no immunosuppressive condition.
